National Policy Manager

The National Policy Manager is a non-office bearer position that reports to the Board via the Director of Policy (Board Member) of the Animal Justice Party.

The position has the following responsibilities and works in together and in conjunction with the Policy Working Group:

  • Research and identify suitable policy for the party, and take advice on such;
  • Draft and circulate for approval all policy in conjunction with appropriate experts if necessary;
  • Research and identify suitable submissions for state submissions;
  • Assist and review state submissions prior to requests for endorsement by the Board;
  • Conduct research for supporting evidence;
  • Consult with MPs / staffers and other elected members on policy where appropriate.

Other key duties are:

  • Provide reports and advice for the Board for its monthly meeting on policy work;
  • Run the development of the policy cycle;
  • Manage and recruit members to the PWG;
  • Other relevant policy work as required.
