June was a hugely successful month for the NSW Branch of the Animal Justice Party.
With not one but two MPs in the NSW Parliament, the AJP is able to secure meaningful, long-lasting wins for animals, people and planet.
Here's what Emma Hurst MP and Mark Pearson MP achieved in the past 30 days alone:
- Secured $2.8M in funding to combat deadly wombat mange, which will see up to 10,000 wombats rescued and treated
- Oversaw explosive evidence from the Inquiry into Animal Experimentation, which Emma Hurst MP instigated
- Passed the 'Right to Release' Bill in the Upper House, which gives animals used in medical experimentation the right to be released
- Showed whistleblower footage of cruel mulesing practices to UK Parliamentarians, asking them to ban Australian wool imports until mulesing is phased out
- Passed laws to protect children from animal abusers by preventing anyone convicted of possessing, producing or disseminating animal crush and bestiality videos from obtaining a Working with Children Check
- More than doubled the Senate vote - from 48,000 primary votes in 2019 to over 103,000 in 2022!
NSW continues to show the importance of having Animal Justice Party representatives in Parliament.
