Thank you for your comment, your support and encouragement is appreciated. We are completely independent of all other political parties. Our policies are realistic and we are determined to raise issues around animal justice at state, territory and federal levels of government. As the next Federal election nears, you'll see and hear a lot more from the AJP. Thanks again for your comment.

I think the party needs to put the word out there. I'm happy to join, just so long as it has nothing to do with the Labor or Green party. One Nation is OK. It has reinvented itself and has realistic policies on Australia. From what I have read, they are in no way controversial, but clearly state their intentions without pretending to please everyone with lies. It's about time freedom of speech came back.

Dear Ms. Bishop,

I urge you and the Parliament to support a BAN ON LIVE EXPORT meats from Australia.

I appreciate and am deeply sympathetic that some jobs may be under increased pressure due to any such ban and I would fully endorse my tax dollars being used to help transition those effected workers. As a Nation however, we can not weigh, or use for political point scoring, the relatively small number of people who will be adversely effected compared to the suffering and pain of literally millions of sentient animals, that in our own wonderful country are valued and respected as more than mere commodities.

Australia will never be able to guarantee the practises of another sovereign nation. Therefore the onus must be on us to do what we know is right, and then move decisively, intelligently and creatively to re-make our economy.

This is not the first time our proud Nation, nor the world has been faced with such challenges. Indeed, many democracies and their economies fight for them everyday. We engage our intelligence and creativity, guided by our moral compass to compete against countries that pay lower wages, exploit child labour, have no health coverage for their citizens, give no voice to women, do not care for their needy etc. We compete and though it is difficult, the tide of history sides with us.

The end of slavery once posed economic challenges to some Nations and many individuals, but slavery ended because it was the right thing to do. The emancipation of women posed economic challenges to some segments of society and/or individuals, yet women were emancipated because it was the right thing to do. Some once argued that the ending of child labour would make their economies uncompetitive, yet child labour was abolished because it was the right thing to do. The worker practises of the early Industrial revolution ended, because it was the right thing to do. The White Australia policy was abandoned and Indigenous Australians given the right to vote and share fully in this great democracy because it was the right thing to do.

We stand once more at the threshold of a major moral challenge for our Nation. And we must change, not because it is without sacrifice economically, nor because it is the easier more stable road to travel, but because it is the right thing to do. It is part of the shared and common direction of our Nation. A direction we have shared since our founding. It is a direction that favours compassion for those weaker or less able or without voice amongst us. A direction that favours moral courage and leadership in the face of great challenges. A direction that favours, not merely a toleration, but a celebration of difference. A direction that meets challenges head-on, and deals with them creatively, intelligently and courageously. That is the Australia I know. That is the Australia I am proud to call my home.

Please stand up against cruelty and suffering and give voice to those who have none. It is a stand in the right direction. It is the right thing to do.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Josef - Narrabeen

I only found out yesterday at the BAN LIVE EXPORT rally that the Animal Justice Party existed. Great news!

I'm looking forward to seeing how much more can be achieved by finally having a political voice for non-human animals.

Thank you!

What's the point of a new tagging system for the cattle? The problem was not not knowing where they were in this live supply chain, but the obscene brutality and sadism. Tagging won't make any difference, or bring any relief, for the hapless animals! All this new system is window-dressing and avoids fixing the real problem - the horrifically and brutal Indonesian style of halal slaughter. The public shouldn't be so easily fooled by this political cover-up.

You have my vote. This horror makes me sick some humans are pure evil.

I wish everyone would get behind this cause, economy and politics don't help an animal having it's throat cut and being treated inhumanely. They are just excuses!

The government should be ashamed of themselves for giving in. THIS CANNOT BE TOLERATED

IT's time people woke up to the truth of what we are doing to our national icon - we are driving them to extinction, like virtually all our native species. Time to respect all life - we don't own the planet. Thank goodness for the AJP. How wonderful if they got into power!
